Aither currently offers a line of fiber Bragg grating-based sensors to meet a variety of sensing needs including strain, temperature, and acceleration monitoring. Each of these sensors is designed to function with the FBG instrumentation offered by Aither. Aither will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding the compatibility of the sensors and instrumentation. A brief description of each sensor type is provided below. These sensors can be used individually or combined to meet your particular sensing application needs. For further information regarding the sensors please contact us and provide your application requirements, we will help you make an informed decision.
Strain
FBG strain sensors are available from various vendors. These sensors come in package styles ranging from "bare" fiber to hardened encapsulated assemblies. Aither can refer you to the appropriate vendor for your application or provide the FBG strain sensors as part of a services contract. For more information please contact us. You may also visit Micron Optics' sensors product page for information of thier sensors.
Single-axis, FBG-based accelerometers are available to meet a wide range of acceleration and shock measurements. The accelerometers are available in three catagories (listed below). The design allows for easy customization so they can be manufactured to meet your sensing requirements. 50 g Range 500 g Range Low Amplitude, Non-Magnetic (pictured)
Displacement Sensor
The FBG-based displacement sensor is designed to measure linear deflections across relatively long distances. The hardened package design is ideal for industrial applications. Documentation
Door Closure
The FBG-based door closure sensor provides a three-stage measurement of door closure status – open, closed but not secured, and closed and secured. Ideal for multiple compartment vessel/building monitoring. Documentation
Flooding
The FBG-based flooding sensor was designed for maritime vessels and applications. The sensor can be used for a wide variety of applications where liquid level or flooding measurements are needed including storage tanks, pump controls, and flood prone areas. Documentation
