Aither has years of experience in sensor design and prototyping. Our research staff includes mechanical, aerospace, and optical engineers with sensor development experience in strain, pressure, temperature, acceleration, chemical sensing, and others. We will work with you to identify the optimal sensor design to meet your sensing needs. We also provide services related to the application and/or integration of fiber optic sensors to your structure or application, including sensor embedding, surface mount protection, and application in harsh environments.
Fiber optic sensors have many performance benefits over traditional electro-mechanical sensor technologies and are more frequently being utilized to solve challenging measurement and monitoring problems. Aither has been investigating fiber optic sensing for applications in aerospace, marine, civil, and industrial systems for more than a decade. During this time, Aither researchers have developed sensors to measure strain, displacement, temperature, acceleration, pressure, and acoustic emissions. This research has also included work in embedding fiber optic sensors in composites and extruded materials during manufacturing and the development of novel fiber Bragg grating sensor monitoring instrumentation.
